Touch the cardinal for the Cardinal story

Gidget

Deb Robinson - Stolzman 9-14-1958  -  July 22-2019

A diagnosis you never want to receive. You have Astrocytoma grade 4 GBM. Think John McCain and Beau Biden. In the year and a half battle Deb fought with every ounce of energy she had. Her first surgery got most of the tumor but it always comes back. It did quickly and with a vengence. There was nothing that could be done. But Deb wasn't done yet. We found an amazing surgeon at the UW Madison that was willing to perform another surgery to give her more time. It was successful. During her recovery to keep her mind active, Husband Brian asked her to draw a picture. Brian responded that's a nice heart Deb and her response was "No, its 2 hearts, you and me".

Sorry to say 2 Brain surgerys within a year, radiation, chemo and numerous new technologies was too much for a human body. The Dr said he loses more patients to the treatment of cancer than the cancer itself. But during it all Deb fought with her famous smile and spunky personality.

Deb was loved by many and loved animals. Adopting and rescuing dozens of dogs during her lifetime. She was the first president of New Life Pet Adoption. Deb would drive by a home with a dog tied to a post and say "I'm coming back tonight and taking that dog". Of course she never did. That would be illegal. :)

So it was a perfect fit when the city of Wausau built a new dog park that it be named in Debs honor. The city agreed.
